Hrmph. That's full frame on a four megapixel camera, which means I cannot fiddle with recropping my photos (unless of course I resample images in Photoshop and potentially lose quality there).

Although now I am vacillating and thinking about just sending a full-size of the second picture, even though it has softer focus.

So, true to my nature, I will now ignore the results of your feedback to my poll and do what I decided I would last night. I am sending along a full-sized shot of the first (read: least interesting) photo because it actually had the sharpest focus (although you cannot tell this from the 400 pixel version). While I agree that the third picture is really the best photograph, I mentioned the "dry, military history" aspect of the book because I am skeptical that they will be interested in anything that presents less than a straightforward view of the artifacts in question. Ignoring for a moment the terrible soft focus, the bad shadows, and the fact that it is not an appropriate sample shot, this was sadly my favorite of all the pictures (based solely on composition).
